Join in on 'Copenhagen Sunday Feast'

Copenhagen Cooking 2022 runs from 19-28. August, and this year we are adding a new big signature event when we end the festival with 'Copenhagen Sunday Feast'. The event takes place on August 28, at 12:00-16:00, where the lunch itself starts at 13:00.

Copenhagen Sunday Feast is held as a long table event in one of Copenhagen's most beautiful urban spaces along the canal at Gammel Strand and Nybrogade opposite Christiansborg and Thorvaldsens Museum. Here, guests have the opportunity to participate in a festive, delicious and spectacular lunch, where 1000 guests can choose between different dining experiences.

In 2022, the theme is ‘The Sea’, and the dining experiences must therefore focus on fish, shellfish, seaweed and other delicacies from the seas around Denmark.

If you think it sounds interesting and want to know more, contact Ida Maria at idamaria@thefoodproject.dk or Simon at simon@thefoodproject.dk. Deadline for registration is May 6.

The five kitchens

This year we choose five different restaurants, associations, chefs or similar, who will assume the task of making a delicious and as far as possible organic menu for 200 guests.

In addition to being responsible for the menu, you must bring your own staff who can be responsible for serving the food - preferably on dishes that the guests themselves distribute at the tables - as well as help with serving / distribution at the tables.

Menu and price are set by the restaurants themselves. The concepts may be a little different from restaurant to restaurant. We encourage the restaurants to have a minimum of two servings so that the guests get a more complete experience of the meal. The price per. ticket can be determined within a price range of DKK 200-600.

Although the theme is the sea, it is important that greens and plants are allowed to fill a lot in the menus - we as a festival would like to have more plants on the plates at all events and thus also on Copenhagen Sunday Feast. We therefore want to make sure that the lunch is also experienced as green and with Danish ingredients in the center.
